I found a small Mourning Dove, it can fly but has this wound on his neck. Keep it or release it?

When I came back from class I saw this small mourning dove sitting on my bike, I took it with me to my apartment since it seemed to be in a bad shape. Right now it is peeping sometimes and it can fly a bit but I noticed a big bloody spot on his neck. Probably some other bird tried to pick it. Should I release it or just keep it for a bit until the wound is healed? Is there a way I could treat the wound?
